Over the years I have seen a great shift on how people are adopting technology. From the paper to now screen based content is spreading faster then we ever thought. Watching TV or working on computer were probably the two major screen time we had in the past and now it is all about smart devices either it is smartphone or smart tablet or even smart television.
So are we really getting smart with these smart devices or they are just a carrier/platform/container for all the content available out there. End of the day if we accept or not …. it is all about content. Only difference or shift happens for user experience is content being interactive. In the past I wrote about “Content is King” (https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/content-king-laiq-siddiqui-dsce-app?published=u) and it seems like content will remain King for many years to come.
Recently have decided to launch our existing IdeasMenu App (www.ideasmenu.com) on a 22″ Android Tablet with our new upcoming product IdeasMenu Kiosk (coming soon) and…… we can already see that the same content on two different sizes devices from same platform opens up a complete new potential market. Digital Signage is becoming more visible and confusion of “What is Digital Signage?” for traditional business owners are gradually becoming more clear and digital Agencies will play a big role for small and medium size organizations to understand and adopt Digital Signage to engage their target audience. Lower cost of hardware and widely access of WiFi connection are the two great motivator for organizations to look into the opportunity Digital Signage offers.
We as solution provider need to keep emphasising the fact that digital signage ROI (Return on Investment) is only possible if we choose the right content and strategy.
